50 Glee Songs We Love

Anyone who tuned into last week’s episode of Glee probably had their heart torn out and placed on a platter in front of them. The episode, appropriately titled “The Break-Up” caused fans everywhere to cry and scream over what happened.

Normal, everyday show writers decide to break-up one favorite couple for a dramatic effect. Glee writers decided that wasn’t good enough for them so they decided to end pretty much every single relationship the fans cared about. Even if you don’t like the most popular “Finchel”, your heart was broken. “Brittania” and “Klaine” fans probably suffered the most.

I will admit that their song choices for last week, including “The Scientist” (featured above), were spot on. Out of the episodes so far this season, I’d have to say those were my favorites.

“Don’t Speak” by No Doubt, which was performed by Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, and Chris Colfer was absolutely heart-wrenching. The original song is gorgeous but haunting and sad. Check out the cover which aired on the episode below!

In addition to those two, they performed “Give Your Heart A Break” by Demi Lovato, which was another one of my favorites. Out of the two, my preference is their cover. A song like that, in my opinion, works better as a duet. It adds more emotion and meaning to it.

“Barely Breathing” was the cover that stole the show. As usual, Criss and Monteith were amazing. My only question is, why does Darren always get the songs full of angst? When there is a more cheerful song, he’s usually tucked in the back somewhere. Take a listen to the awesome cover.

There was a more emotional cover of “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry than the one we saw the first time Kurt and Blaine met. During that performance, I think it dawned on Kurt that his relationship was falling apart.

Hopefully after the heartbreaking episode last week, Ryan Murphy and his crew will offer us some comic relief. I doubt they’ll be that nice to fans, but we can still dream, right?
