Let's Burger, Chengdu : Travel Blog

letts7

Desperate for a real Western meal that wasn’t McDonald’s after a week in China, we went in search of a Pizza Hut. We walked and we walked through Chengdu, only to have our hopes dashed when we saw a Pizza Hut sign but found the restaurant was shuttered. We kept walking, past many McDonald’s, keeping hope alive. We passed a building with a giant panda climbing up the side. We kept walking until finally we gave up and turned around for a give up meal at a McDonald’s. On the way back we decided to go in the building with the panda. It was an upscale mall (the IFS Mall), and on the roof of the building there was a park with the panda peering over the side. How cool was that! Then we saw Let’s Burger next to the panda. How cool was that! After taking more than a few photos with the panda we sat down at Let’s in the outside seating area next to the panda. (They have indoor seating too.) Our joy in finding the place soon turned to glee when we looked at the menu and saw items such as “burger slathered in cheese” and “big juicy beef patty filled with molten cheddar and mozzarella cheese.” Wow! Not only did we find a Western meal, but possibly the best burgers in the entire world. Of course, I ordered the burger slathered in cheese and Alex ordered the stuffed cheese burger. And they were perhaps the best burgers ever, in one of the coolest locations ever.
