Get excited, Arrow fans, because the Smoaks will soon be reunited again. As first reported by TVLine, Charlotte Ross is reprising her role as Felicity’s mom, Donna Smoak, in an upcoming Season 4 episode.
Ross will make her Arrow return in the sixth episode of Season 4. However, what Donna will be up to in Star City when arrives back in town is still being kept under wraps at this time, which means that she could be visiting for any number of reasons. Perhaps the Arrow writers are going to reveal more information about who Felicity’s father is, or Felicity needs her mother’s help/advice with all the new developments in her life, or maybe Arrow is finally giving some fans the “Smoak & Lance” (aka Donna and Quentin) pairing they’ve been asking for. We’ll have to just wait and see.
Ross appeared in two episodes of Arrow Season 3, “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak” and “Broken Arrow,” and her character became an instant fan favorite. When we last saw Donna, she had told Felicity that she knew that she was in love with Oliver and had given her daughter the advice to follow her heart and try to be with him. It will be interesting to see what her reaction will be to Felicity and Oliver together as an actual couple in Season 4.
In addition to her work on Arrow, Ross’s other TV credits include Hit the Floor, Nashville, Glee, NYPD Blue, and Days of Our Lives.
Arrow Season 4 kicks off on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
