The Diagnosis (Continued…) | mapexpo.com.au

I was thinking perhaps I should warn you in advance that you should be conscious of the fact that our continued interaction could ultimately result in our relationship spiraling out of control so that it ends in termination.

That there is, in my view, real potential for us to become bitter and twisted warring enemies. But that would be a worst-case scenario! I (we) should live in hope that does not happen.

Perhaps we will continue to enjoy, with pleasurable glee, each other’s thoughts and correspondence. But you need to keep in mind that I reserve the right to regulate our interaction. Such that if I deem something you’ve sent me is a complete waste of my time – I may henceforth totally ignore any further issuance from you. Say the wrong thing and furthermore – I may never speak to you again! But as I say – hopefully that won’t happen.

It’s in your hands. So I am warning you in advance that you should be careful, or at least think very, very carefully from here on in before you decide to emit some absolutely obtuse piece of literary crap containing nothing of any consequence and so break my hitherto pleasurable solitude.

So listen up … before you send me anything – here’s what I want you to do. Give really serious consideration as to how you plan and organise what information you desire to give me. Proper order and design could be critically important to whether I even consider reading it. Spewed forth gobble-de-gook I won’t tolerate.

So take the hint … I’ll favourably receive such messages if you adhere to the following advice:-

Use a whiteboard and conduct a SWOT analysis before you send anything at all. That way you can determine at a glance what the strengths weaknesses, opportunities and threats are for the information you are about to deliver.

And by that I mean really analyse it. Ask yourself – Is it something that you really need to tell me? On the other hand – is it something that I really need to know?

Perhaps you should make an assessment of the size, scope and value of the information or data that you think I should know. Maybe you should also consider what kind of response you want to elucidate from me…
