TV Land Renews Younger for Season 2 - TVOvermind

Younger

TV Land will continue to get Younger for another year. The cable network has renewed the freshman series for a 12-episode second season after just four episodes (a fifth episode of Younger airs tonight at 10 p.m. on TV Land).

Younger premiered last month to 504,000 viewers, which isn’t exactly a huge audience, even by cable network standards. Still, though, TV Land states that the show has reached a total of 20 million people via multiple viewing platforms, such as Nick at Nite, Hulu, VOD, and TVLand.com (where you can watch all four episodes of the series right now).

“We couldn’t be more excited that audiences are discovering Younger and falling in love with our fabulous cast,” said series creator Darren Star in a statement. “I can’t wait to have everyone back in New York to shoot Season 2.”

Additionally, series star Sutton Foster also tweeted out her excitement regarding the renewal news.

Younger stars Foster (Bunheads) as Lisa Miller, a 40-year-old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to land a coveted publishing job. In addition to Foster as Liza, the series’ cast also includes Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuireGossip Girl) as Kelsey, Debi Mazar (Entourage) as Maggie, Miriam Shor (The Good WifeGCB) as Diana, and Nico Tortorella (The Following, Make It or Break It) as Josh.

Younger airs Thursday nights at 10 p.m. on TV Land. The show will finish Season 1 with its finale on Tuesday, June 9.
