Anderson Cooper is told by PBS that he has an ancestor who was beaten to death by a black male. The perp was apparently one of twelve slaves that his ancestor owned.
Cooper reacts to the news with glee and says his ancestor, who he admits knowing nothing about, deserved to die. Cooper says that the murder is “awesome.” Cooper then says he “feels a sense of shame” over not knowing the name of the man who murdered his ancestor.
