Katey Sagal is perhaps the biggest supporter of Kurt Sutter, as she is joining his next show. FX has picked up The Bastard Executioner, which is the next series put out by him since is wrapping up next month. Katy announced that she is attached to project during a conference to the media about the perio show. She doesn’t know much about how she will join it yet. The period based show will follow the life of King Edward III’s warriot knight left in his care. The series was picked up last year and is only now going into production. Here is what Katy did have to say about the show so far.
I’m going to be in it. We don’t know in what capacity yet, because he’s just starting to work on it. But that’s where we’re going. I will definitely be involved with it.
I love how Katey and Kurt are a power couple in Hollywood. It has a lot of sweetness. However, we are pretty sure this will help to calculate it to be their next big success. With Sons of Anarchy wrapping up, they need to find a way to fill that void on FX and on their plates. It will certainly be interesting to see if this period piece can live up or if they will have to fall back on a prequel.
