Roger Howarth is stepping away from Port Charles in order to spend some time in Central City.
Howarth, known to “General Hospital” fans as Robert James “Franco” Frank, has been cast on The CW’s freshman superhero series “The Flash,” a spokesman for the network told TheWrap on Monday.

Howarth will play reporter Mason Bridge, who mentors newbie journalist Iris West while checking into the story of S.T.A.R. Labs’ Dr. Harrison Wells.
The actor will first appear on “The Flash,” which stars “Glee” alum Grant Gustin as the titular speedy hero, during its 11th episode.

In addition to his work on “General Hospital,” soap opera veteran Howarth has starred in “One Life to Live” and “As the World Turns.”
Howarth is joining fellow newcomer Mientus. The “Smash” veteran will play Hartley Rathaway, aka the Pied Piper, which will be the series’ first openly gay character.
