by: Maggie Loyal

Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced today that Ezra Miller will star in the big screen outing of THE FLASH, which is set to hit screens in 2018. So you’ve got some time to read up on the comics. The DC property revolves around Barry Allen, a scientist who gains the superpower of incredible speed after a accident involving a little lightning, a couple chemical compounds, and an added dash from a particle accelerator. The role is currently inhabited on The CW by Grant Gustin (Glee), whose debut last week scored massive ratings (and set a ratings record for the network) and positive reviews. Warner Bros. released their DC slate through 2020.

Miller is best known for his role in 2012′s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s novel about an introverted freshman who is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the “real world.” Before that he starred in Lynne Ramsay’s We Need to Talk About Kevin. He is currently filming The Stanford Prison Experiment with an ever-growing cast that includes Nelsan Ellis, Olivia Thirlby, and Billy Crudup.

Miller is repped by Paradigm.
