X Factor 2012: Lucy Spraggan loses her grandmother but wows with ...

October 13th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry.

We have been sooooo looking forward to watching Lucy Spraggan’s performance on tonight’s X Factor show, ever since she tweeted her followers today, telling them to ‘expect the unexpected.’

For love and heartbreak week, we would have been expecting her to roll out Tea and Toast again, her self penned track that brought us to tears in the bootcamp rounds, what we were hoping she wouldn’t do, was to attempt another Whitney Houston song, after her dodgy rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You’ at judges houses.

Lucy lived up to her promise and we were thoroughly shocked when she started to perform Golddigger by Kanye West this evening.

It was like a mix of the original and the Glee version but Lucified. Spraggan seemed much more comfortable on stage this weekend too and appeared a lot more confident, as we thought she looked a little like a rabbit in the headlights last Saturday.

We quite enjoyed the performance, it was a nice bit of fun in the middle of all the drama…

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Gary Barlow: Lucy well done I know how draining a loss can be. I was a bit worried when I knew you were doing a cover version, tonight was a different case entirely. I really enjoyed the fun in that. Well done, great performance, good girl.

Louis Walsh: You are a true professional, you are a brilliant, versatile, storytelling performer and I loved it.

Tulisa: You could have gone up there and done a sad slow song but you wanted to make people smile and you did that. I admire that, because you could have milked this.

Nicole Scherzinger: Miss Tea and Toast I was worried too but you swagged it out and made it your own.

Did you enjoy Lucy’s performance tonight? Do you think she’s safe? Leave your comments below…..
