American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez has been cast in a recurring role on Fox’s musical hit “Glee.”
Sanchez appearing on Glee has been rumored for quite sometime now, but it’s been made official. There’s no word on what character the 17-year-old singer will be playing or how many episodes she’ll be appearing in, but show creator Ryan Murphy backed up the news in a Tweet.
The Tweet also teased at a possible episode theme involving Jessica.
“Michael Ausiello broke news of Jessica Sanchez on Glee,” Murphy Tweeted. “With voices like Jessica, Lea, Naya, Melissa, Amber, and Jenna…Streisand episode?”
A recurring role on “Glee” isn’t bad for an American Idol runner-up. Especially considering that the success of Idol winners has been hit or miss during the past ten years or so. Congratulations to Jessica.
