As the International AIDS Conference gets underway in Washington, D.C. this Sunday, we can expect a ton of news to be generated. And here’s the first big bombshell: A new study, conducted by the Black AIDS Institute, found that young black gay men have a 1 in 4 chance of contracting HIV. By leaps and bounds, that is the worst statistic among any racial group. Even worse, HIV rates among black gay men continue to rise as other groups are leveling off.
