“Glee’s” Kurt Hummel has left the halls of McKinley High, answering the fashion-forward siren call of New York City.

The post-graduation storyline is a dream come true for Chris Colfer (who plays Kurt on the FOX series), as he’ll be working alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in the show’s upcoming fourth season.

“[It's] crazy! I’m a huge fan of SJP,the Prospect Park Bandshell,” Chris told Access Hollywood of working with Sarah Jessica, at a book signing for his new children’s/young adult adventure novel, “The Land of Stories” in New York City on Wednesday. “I start [filming] as soon as I am done with this book tour I start back.”

With his knowledge of fashion and pop culture, it stands to reason that Chris came to admire the iconic actress from her Carrie Bradshaw days, but the actor said his love of SJP pre-dates the HBO series.

“I was a big ‘Sex and The City’ fan — probably not as big as some people were, but I am a huge fan — but I am more excited that the hot witch from ‘Hocus Pocus’ is coming on the show,” he said, referencing SJP’s 1993 film co-starring Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy. “That movie, I worshipped. I was obsessed with that movie!”

At just 22, Chris has earned a Golden Globe award for his heartwarming work on “Glee,” written a book and penned the screenplay for an independent film (“Struck by Lightning”).

While the actor relishes every moment of his career success, he admits his achievements have a set a sometimes dauntingly-high standard for the future and for living up to his fans’ expectations.

“[It makes me feel] nervous, because I’m always afraid that I’m going to say the wrong thing or I’m going to stutter or do something [like] be really high-pitched and freak [my fans] out, or do something that’s going to ruin the moment with them wanting to meet me,the big ballad,” he said. “That’s my biggest fear. I never want to disappoint anybody.”

“The Land of Stories” is available in stores now; “Glee” returns to FOX for its fourth season on September 13 at 9/8c.
